Dust off your Gameboy for this prehistoric discovery! (Part 3)
(Part ONE) (Part TWO) (Part THREE)
The process continues... But I can see the end in sight. The ad is starting to take shape in a satisfying way. It's less of an imagination and more of something I can see and even better share with you all!
By this point I tried a variety of fonts but they all seemed too crisp, too exact, too refined. (I have this problem constantly with fonts) I wanted something more organic. More crusty. More natural. So in my mind that left only one choice, I would have to make the fonts by hand in clay as well.
They are riddled with imperfections and are very rough but hopefully others can see the charm of that. And hopefully can read the lettering as well. lol
With a lil' photoshop n' chop they came out looking alright for use. I'm not much of a perfectionist and this "good enuff" perspective tends to come out in my work a lot... But I'd rather make a bunch of good enuff stuff then be paralyzed by the amount of fixes needed to make just one thing "complete".
Since at the moment the game is planned to be playable in English and Korean I thought it was fun to make a Korean version of the ad as well.
Now for the finishing touches.
And the Korean one:
I feel like I need a corny slogan for this ad. Let me know what you come up with in the comments below. ^_^
Infomercial Voice: "And wait there's more!"
Here is the tentative box and label art for the game:
